The Mollison St Bridge was built in 1884 replacing an earlier 1861 bridge at the same location using the abutments and piers of that bridge. The bridge is one of the longest nineteenth century riveted plate girder bridges in Victoria, originally having a timber planking road surface it now has a bitumen surface
