This community book exchange is on the grounds of the public elementary school outside the fence and near the curb at the intersection of Monterrey Oak and Guadalupe Street. It is NOT at the entrance to the school. The book box is facing toward Guadalupe Street but is named for the street address of the school since most of the children and families who will be using this free exchange of books will be familiar with this location and street name. The LittleFreeLibrary.org listing also gives Monterrey Oak as the street address. The little library is also one of several that are found with a metal plate stating that: "This library is provided by Toni Ann Hoffman in appreciation of those who serve. #0769." The outside of the the book container is decorated with painted on red, white, and blue dots around the door and some handpainted characters on the other three sides of the unit. There were lots of books on both shelves of this library, all on appropriate elementary school grade reading level.
The concept of the Little Free Library is for people within a community to stop by the unit and examine the selection of books at that time. If you see a book you'd like to read, feel free to take it out and take it with you. If you have books at home that you have already read, you are encouraged to take these books to a Little Free Library and donate them into any little library's book selection. This concept is summarized as: Take A Book: Return a Book. Feel free to take a book you want to read, and feel free to return a book/add a book to this exchange unit or any others you know of. Your contribution of books keeps the sections varied and keeps the little libraries filled with book for others. Its is a win-win situation.
