Fruit de la rencontre entre l’artiste Gloria Friedman et la forêt régionale de Rougeau, l’œuvre titanesque « Le Gardien » a été installée aux abords de l’allée Bourette.
Sculpture massive, cette tête d’homme totémique surmontée de 5 cerfs de taille réelle interpelle désormais les promeneurs. Au cœur du patrimoine naturel et des chênes majestueux, ce géant de terre et de composites se veut un véritable symbole du rapport de l’Homme au règne animal, au carrefour de la nature et de l’art contemporain.

Biographie - Gloria Friedmann
Gloria Friedmann, née en 1950 à Kronach en Allemagne, vit et travaille depuis 1980 en France, à Aignay-le-Duc et à Paris. Cette artiste allemande bénéficie d’une reconnaissance internationale. Elle interroge le monde, soucieuse de défendre la nature ou de dénoncer les agressions que bon nombre lui fait subir. La nature et la culture s'opposent et se questionnent dans ses œuvres. Engagée, militante écologique, elle appelle à travers ses installations à une prise de conscience. Description de l’oeuvre
Au terme de 3 jours de visite dans les forêt d’Île-de-France administrées par l’AEV, Gloria Friedman a choisi la Forêt régionale de Rougeau, tant pour son histoire que pour son patrimoine naturel, et notamment pour ses chênes majestueux.
« Le Gardien » est né de cette rencontre entre l’art et la forêt, l’artiste et le site. Géant de terre, haut de 10 mètres, il est le représentant du lien indestructible qu’il existe entre l’Homme et la Nature. En coupant une partie de cette tête monumentale, là où se trouve le cerveau, pour y placer 5 cerfs, Gloria Friedman a souhaité montrer que l’Homme est toujours lié au monde animal.

Description of the work
After 3 days of visit in the Île-de-France forests managed by the AEV, Gloria Friedman chose the Regional Forest of Rougeau, both for its history and for its natural heritage, and especially for its majestic oaks.
"The Guardian" is born from this encounter between art and the forest, the artist and the site. Giant of earth, high of 10 meters, it is the representative of the indestructible link that exists between the Man and the Nature. By cutting a part of this monumental head, where the brain is, to place 5 deer, Gloria Friedman wished to show that the Man is always related to the animal world.
