The garden was born in 1994 as a joint work of the Chilean company Compañía Minera del Pacífico (CAP Mining) and the Japanese company Nippon Steel Company. Mitsubishi is among the other Japanese companies that also participated. Landscaper Akira Ohira was the architect and genius behind this gift from Japan.
This beautiful lung of nature and tranquility is a magical landscape that will transport you to ancient Japan and is only about 200 meters from the Main Square, another reason why you can not miss it.
The Garden of the Heart is the largest Japanese park in South America. It has different sections, each with original designs, which give you a different smell and sensation, from the relaxing sound of the streams running around the park and from the original red Japanese bridge, to the calm central lagoon.
Among the wide variety of exotic plants and animals that you can enjoy seeing are cherry blossoms, bamboo, bonsai, ducks, turtles, goldfish, etc.
