Don Det is one of the few larger islands in the 4,000 Islands group in southern Laos ~2 square kilometres in size. Providing transport to this island is this bus station, located on the western side of the island at the Don Det village. There is an unpaved road circling the island with several unpaved roads crossing the island.

The station consists of a wooden, open shack where the ticket chaps (a family I think) sit and dispense good cheer. Beyond this is an unpaved parking area for the buses. The vehicles consist of a mix of small trucks converted to carrying people. Entirely suitable for the small journeys to found on the island.

None of the staff could speak English, so while we chatted amicably we exchanged little information. The vehicles are old trucks and mini-vans repurposed for passengers.
