Peterson Park
Peterson Park is located at 10001 E. Peterson Park Rd, Northport, MI 49670. It provides public access to approximately 1000 feet of beach on Lake Michigan and offers a viewing platform, stairway to the beach, a pavilion, playground equipment, picnic tables, grills, a volleyball area, and a paved parking lot.
Peterson Park Beach is a stretch of rocky beach in Michigan's northwestern Lower Peninsula that reportedly is a great place to hunt Petoskey stones. The Petoskey stone is Michigan's "State Stone", although it is a fossilized coral, rather than a stone.
Large bluffs lead to a township park at the top with a picnic area with grills, play area and vault toilets.
Public restrooms are available (Pit Toilet).
