The Writer's Desk is a public artwork and tribute to Rolfe Neill who retired in 1997 as Chairman and Publisher of the Charlotte Observer after twenty-two years of service.

The sculpture was done by Larry Kirkland and placed in 2005.

The sculpture can be seen in Google Street View.
