Long Description:

[EN] "The catholic parish church Miesenheim is already early provable. First mentions of a pastor and a vicar in Miesenheim can be found around 1330. In 1380 an altar of St. Nicholas is mentioned in Miesenheim.

After the parish had been abolished in the French time, it was established again in the year 1835. The new church was built in 1891 in neo-Gothic style according to the plans of the architect Hector. The old church was rebuilt with the exception of the Romanesque tower. The old church had a single nave baroque nave. The preserved Romanesque west tower rises above the square ground plan and tapers slightly upwards. The two lower floors are made of plastered quarry stone. Later a third upper floor was added.

In its location on a small hill with surrounding walls, the church has a particularly fortified character. In 1806 the church received the clockwork of the Franciscan monastery of Andernach".
