These late 19th century gates once graced the
entrance to Birkenfelds estate at the north end
of Birkenfelds Road. Birkenfelds was built by
Thomas Coltrin Keefer who resided there
between 1864 and 1886. Its extensive grounds
were laid out in the Picturesque style.
The gates are now located at the entrance to the Jubilee Garden, on Buchan Road, in Ottawa (Rockliffe Park), Ontario.

jadis l’entrée au domaine Berkenfelds situé au
nord du chemin Birkenfelds. Thomas Coltrin
Keefer construisit Birkenfelds qui lui servit de
demeure ente 1864 et 1886. L’aménagement
de l’étendue du terrain était du style Pittoresque.
Les portails se trouvent maintenant à l'entrée du jardin Jubilee, sur le chemin Buchan, à Ottawa (parc Rockliffe), en Ontario.
