[ENG] In the Seven Years' War (1756-1763), Prussia and Great Britain / Kurhannover fought on the one side and the imperial Austrian Habsburg Monarchy on the other side with France, Russia and the Holy Roman Empire.
In Kamperbruch on 16.10.1760 a bloody battle took place. Prussians and French faced each other. 1168 deaths on both sides were to be lamented.
For this reason, a memorial stone was erected on 18.10.1985 in a small forest area, the so-called French grove. The inscription reads (translated):"During the Seven Years' War, on October 16, 1760, French and Prussians fought a bloody battle. The war brought misery and misery to the population."
