CASEY
MONSHOWER

"A Warrenton High School senior died early Saturday after the truck she was a passenger in struck a tree.

"The Warren County coroner pronounced Casey Monshower, 17, of Warrenton dead at the scene shortly after 12:40 a.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

"Justin Guinn, 17, of Warrenton was southbound on Sunnyside Road when the 1993 GMC Sierra truck he was driving left the right side of the road, traveled through a grass ditch and struck a tree near Marks Crossing, according to a report from the highway patrol.

"Emergency responders arrived at the scene at 12:40 a.m., according to the report.

"Guinn suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to SSM St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis, according to the report.

"Neither party was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

"Warrenton High School Principal Jeremy Way said the school announced Monday during first hour that Monshower had died. Extra counselors were on staff to help students and teachers.

'"Most of the kids knew before they came to school today so I don't think it was a huge shock to them, it was more dealing with it," he said.

"He said Monshower sang in the choir and was involved with consumer sciences.

'"She was just a great young lady, someone you would want to have as your own daughter," he said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her family."' ~ St. Louis Post=Dispatch, By Sarah Whitney Mar 25, 2009
