La frontière la plus folle d’Europe !

L’itinéraire de la Vennbahn vous fait découvrir de superbes paysages vallonnés où, sur la plus grande partie du trajet, les pentes (max 2%) sont plus clémentes que vous ne l’attendriez. C’est l’avantage de circuler en toute sécurité sur le RAVeL des anciennes lignes de chemin de fer n°48 et 47 avec leurs viaducs et leurs tunnels.

La Vennbahn est une des plus longues et belles voies vertes en Europe aménagée à travers 3 pays sur une ancienne ligne de chemin de fer. Elle rencontre un grand succès auprès des amateurs de tourisme doux et un site Internet lui est spécialement dédié : www.vennbahn.eu.

Au long du parcours, vous appréciez notre belle région germanophone, l’Eifel allemand voisin, les magnifiques paysages des Hautes Fagnes et, enfin, les forêts et bocages de la Vallée de l’Our et du Nord du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg. Les villes d’Aix-la-Chapelle/Aachen, Kornelimünster, Montjoie/Monschau et Saint-Vith/Sankt-Vith s’ajoutent au plaisir du voyage.

De fietsroute van de Vennbahn neemt je mee op een tocht door prachtige heuvellandschappen. Toch is een groot deel van het parcours minder heuvelachtig dan je zou vermoeden (max. 2 %). Dit is een van de voordelen van de RAVeL van de oude spoorlijnen 48 en 47. Af en toe kom je een viaduct en een tunnel tegen.

De Vennbahn is één van de langste en mooiste groene fietsroutes van Europa. Je fietst langs voormalige spoorlijnen en doet drie landen aan: Duitsland, België en Luxemburg. De Vennbahn is zeer populair bij fietsliefhebbers. Er is zelfs een speciale website aan gewijd: www.vennbahn.eu.

Onderweg kan je met volle teugen genieten van onze prachtige Duitstalige regio, de nabijgelegen Duitse Eifel en de eindeloze landschappen van de Hoge Venen. Maar ook de bossen van de Ourvallei en het noorden van het Groothertogdom Luxemburg zijn niet te versmaden. Dat is evenzeer het geval voor de steden Aken, Kornelimünster, Monschau en Sankt-Vith.

The craziest border in Europe!

The bicycle route of the Vennbahn takes you on a journey through beautiful hilly landscapes. Nevertheless, a large part of the trail is less hilly than you would expect (max. 2%). But the forests of the Our Valley and the north of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg are also worth mentioning. This is also the case for the cities of Aachen, Kornelimünster, Monschau and Sankt-Vith.
