This dedicated tree grows alongside the beautiful amphitheater in McClain Rogers Park.

This tree is a backdrop to the WPA-constructed amphitheater constructed n 1936. It grows just off the right stage area of the bandstand. A granite plaque beneath the tree reads:

When researching Eugene Balzer, we find two men with this name, both laid to rest in Clinton Cemetery:
Ervin Eugene Balzer 4/30/36 - 10/11/04 and
Randall Eugene Balzer 1/27/63 - 7/2/00.
As there is another tree with Randall's name, we believe this tree to be dedicated to Ervin Eugene Balzer.
