The Newcastle Police Department was established in 1965 with its first Town Marshall. In 1978, the first Police Chief was inaugurated. The dispatchers at the police department handle calls that come in to their police department, plus the fire department, EMS, and the Bridge Creek Fire Department. Newcastle has a crime rate of approximately 3.8 per 1000.
They are housed in a one-story brick building with a covered porch supported by four columns, with a triangular pediment. It is located at 860 N. Carr Road off N.W. 10th Street. Newcastle Police Department.
