The white-painted cast steel anchor, with its flukes and large shackle, are mounted on a graveled concrete base, surrounded by a row of brown bricks. It is near the turning area of the car park in the centre of the north and south-bound multiple lanes of ANZAC Drive. There is no plaque to identify where the Anchor is from; while nearby there is a plaque commemorating the Coral Sea Naval Battle of May 1942.
