The William G. Stone Locke is a federally owned facility located in the City of West Sacramento connecting the Deep Water Ship Channel and the Sacramento River. The Lock was completed in 1963 at a cost of $7.3 million and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers through 1982. The lockes were decommissioned in the mid 1980s and de-authorized in 2000. While the locks were reactivated for a fish passage study in 2003 and 2004, they are currently non-operational.
