"On the occasion of the pilgrimage, the friends of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Children held an exhibition on the history of the building. This exhibition will remain in place throughout the summer, especially for tourists during the Tour de France, until the Heritage Days in September.

The panels on display provide different information about the basilica. They come back, for example, to the appointment of Father Ducros, who proposed a subscription to build the basilica in 1865. The first stone was laid in 1869 and the building was completed in 1886.

It is also possible to learn that the basilica is 80 meters long, has a 20 meters façade and has 5 bells, 61 stained glass windows and 2,000 ex-votos.

This exhibition also returns, among other things, to the history of the famous Cavaillé Coll organ. 2013 being the year of the ninetieth anniversary of the coronation of the statue of Our Lady of the Children, this anniversary is also mentioned in this exhibition. A whole set of information that allows us to better know or discover this beautiful basilica, which is the pride of the Castelneuviens."
