"À l'occasion du pèlerinage, les amis de la basilique de Notre-Dame-des-Enfants ont réalisé une exposition sur l'histoire de l'édifice. Cette exposition restera en place pendant toute la période estivale, notamment pour les touristes lors du passage du Tour de France, et ce jusqu'aux Journées du patrimoine, courant septembre.
Les panneaux exposés fournissent différentes informations sur la basilique. Ils reviennent par exemple sur la nomination de l'abbé Ducros, qui a proposé une souscription pour construire la basilique en 1865. La première pierre a été posée en 1869 et le bâtiment a été terminé en 1886.
Il est également possible d'apprendre que la basilique mesure 80 mètres de long, a 20 mètres de façade et possède 5 cloches, 61 vitraux et 2.000 ex-votos.
Cette exposition revient aussi, entre autres, sur l'histoire de l'orgue Cavaillé Coll, très réputé. 2013 étant l'année du quatre-vingt-dixième anniversaire du couronnement de la statue de Notre-Dame-des-Enfants, cet anniversaire est aussi évoqué dans cette exposition. Tout un ensemble de renseignements qui permettent de mieux connaître ou de découvrir cette belle basilique, qui fait la fierté des Castelneuviens."
