The Magee Grocery stood at the corner of 49th Avenue and West Boulevard since the 1930s. It is unknown when the neon sign was installed. When the grocery store was demolished to be replaced by condos the neon sign was saved.

This neon sign saw an incredible amount of local history. Many of the historic features around where it hung for at least half-a-century are gone, such as the Vancouver & Lulu Island Railway just metres away.
When the Magee Grocery was demolished for the new condo development the builder retained this gorgeous sign and it now hangs in the stairwell from the parkade to Save-on Foods.
