Gourette was originally the name given to the summer pastures of Aas herders who transhumance herds in early July.
From the end of the 19th century, Gourette experienced a period of economic prosperity thanks to gold and silver mining on the sites of Arre, Anglas and Uzious. The ore is then transported by air on both sides of Valentine's Day to Laruns station.
Today, Gourette is renowned for its ski resort. But in the 19th century, the first international ski competitions of the Pyrenees took place at Eaux-Bonnes. From 1924, skiing is definitely practiced in Gourette. Currently, our estate covers 120 hectares and has 42 km of marked trails.

Gourette était à l’origine le nom donné aux pâturages d’été des bergers d’Aas qui effectuent la transhumance des troupeaux début juillet.
Dès la fin du 19ème siècle, Gourette connaît une période de prospérité économique grâce à l’exploitation minière aurifère et argentifère sur les sites d’Arre, d’Anglas et d’Uzious. Le minerai est ensuite acheminé par voie aérienne de part et d’autre du Valentin jusqu’à la gare de Laruns.
Aujourd’hui, Gourette est renommée pour sa station de ski. Mais au 19e siècle, les premiers concours internationaux de ski des Pyrénées se déroulent aux Eaux-Bonnes. Dès 1924, le ski se pratique définitivement à Gourette. Actuellement, notre domaine s’étend sur 120 hectares et compte 42 km de pistes balisées.
