Wasserterrassen Zirkenbach - Mieders, Tirol, Austria - Man-made Waterfalls on Waymarking.com

These water terraces are located above Mieders. From the Zirkenhof, they were worked into the riverbed downstream in order to reduce the flow velocity of the Zirkenbach. During thunderstorms, water masses can occur, which can then lead to a rupturing stream and then fall unchecked into the valley, which would then lead to considerable damage and flooding there. In the visible area (parking coordinate up to Zirkenhof) the difference in altitude is approx. 80 metres.
