Saint John of Nepomuk (or John Nepomucene) [Czech: Jan Nepomucký; German: Johannes Nepomuk; Latin: Ioannes (or Ioannis) Nepomucenus (c. 1345 – March 20, 1393) is the saint of Bohemia (Czech Republic), who was drowned in the Vltava river at the behest of Wenceslaus, King of the Romans and King of Bohemia. Later accounts state that he was the confessor of the queen of Bohemia and he refused to divulge the secrets of the confessional. On the basis of this account, John of Nepomuk is considered the first martyr of the Seal of the Confessional, a patron against calumnies and, because of the manner of his death, a protector from floods and drowning.

Pískovcový pilír se sochou sv. Jana Nepomuckého stojí nedaleko kostela sv. Jakuba po levé strane u místní komunikace ve smeru Dolní Olešnice - Horní Olešnice. Na kamenném fundamentu je umísten nízký kvádrový sokl, na který dosedá vysoký podstavec. Celní strana je provedena s rytou zrcadlovou paspartou a textem s chronogramem: Der gereCh/ te bLVhtete/ geVne PaL/Men aVs LI/ banos HV/ geLenfort//. Na bocních stenách podstavce je rytý text v nemcine oslavující sv. Jana Nepomuckého, na zadní strane je uveden text s vrocením : Erichtet/ im 18 den Jahr/ Hundert/ ubersetzt 1822//. Na podstavec dosedá mírne presahující profilovaná segmentová rímsa, na které je na plintu umístena socha svetce v životní velikosti. Sv. Jan Nepomucký zobrazen v kontrapostu, esovite prohnutý, oden do kanovnického roucha a almucí a biretem na hlave. Na predloktí levé ruky drží témer horizontálne položený krucifix, pravou ruku má ohnutou v predloktí a položenou na prsou. Kolem hlavy svetce je jednoduchá kovová svatozár. Vše z ružového pískovce.
