Perryville’s Jim Eddleman make a promise 50 years ago that if he made it back from Vietnam he would do something to honor the soldiers who didn’t make it back. Saturday Eddleman oversaw the culmination of that promise during the grand opening of the Missouri National Veterans Memorial in Perryville.
This welcome center has a film room, a gift shop, and small snack area, and lots of artifacts.
It also has a very knowledgeable staff. The staff will help you find anything you need, including the wall location of a loved on who is on it.
This memorial site when finished, will have memorial to each major conflict, a play are for children, a cemetery, a designated site for those who wish to spread ashes of loved one, and gardens
