The sign looks like it may be a 'bus schedule' sign post, being so narrow and tall, but its use is to show a potential route to take from Bronte Park to Queens Park for pedestrians, naming the various streets to be walked (and none of the others.)

At the top of the main map is the recommended walking times for sections of the suggested Green Links walk:

Bondi Junction - Bondi Beach: 40 min
Bondi Junction - Centennial Park: 10 min
Bondi Junction - Queens Park: 19 min
Queens Park - Bronte Beach: 25 min
Queens Park - Bronte Park: 25 min
Bondi Junction - Tamarama Park: 23 min

[An upper 'inset map' shows more of eastern Sydney, with another and smaller You Are Here caption balloon.]

The upper part of the sign reads:

WALK WAVERLY:

'Green Links is a series of safe, pedestrian-friendly pathways that link parks, beaches, schools and commercial centres throughout the Waverley LGA. Waverly Council has incorporated stairs, seats, artwork and plants along the routes so that residents and visitors will be encouraged to take short scenic walks to local facilities, rather than hopping in the car. Not only will you get fit using them, you'll help reduce vehicle noise and pollution too.'

At the bottom of the sign is the following:

PLEASE NOTE: Some of the links incorporate stairs and so are not fully accessible. Green Links is an initiative of Waverly Council and is partly funded through the Department of Planning's Metropolitan Greenspace Program.

Access: parking usually available, 24/7
