Pioneer School Culvert - Norge, OK - WPA Projects on Waymarking.com

Alas and alack, we can't help ourselves! As we travel around the state of Oklahoma, our eyes are always peeled for WPA-constructed culverts and bridges. This culvert runs east-west at the intersection of Highway 92 and County Road 2790.

It amazes us how many of these culverts were built all over the State. They must have really been a boon to towns with unpaved and flooding roadways. Over the years, this culvert has filled in and no longer carries water beneath the county road. A worn WPA shield is barely readable on one of the curbs and reads 1941.
