Bonaparte Indian Band Cemetery is actually quite large and kept in a natural setting. There is a large white arch at the entrance. Though Find a Grave only lists 24 interments, there are estimated over 300 with almost all marked with a wooden cross and simply RIP inscribed. It is not uncommon for graves to be left unmarked and the estimate of over 300 actually could be low. There is an older section towards the back where some of graves are marked with pipe shaped as a cross and a few small upright marble headstones. Most have an orange algae growing on them making them almost impossible to read.
The oldest known interment is Charles Sh'Awitksh who was born in 1847
and passed away in 1884.
Sophie Joseph birth is unknown and passed away October 19, 1901. These two interments tends one to think this cemetery dates back to the at least 1884.
