It is worth the trip just for a visit to the Banana Splitz ice cream shop. Beware, there may be too much ice cream to stay in your cone. The text below is taken from the on-site marker placed by the Gananoque Historical Society. The building was locally known as the lockup.
Building erected 1851 by Thomas B Anderson, purchased by the town of Gananoque and used as Town Jail 1903 to 1911.
