Along 104th Avenue on the east side of the town of Hythe, the Hythe Community Centre was once the Hythe Elementary School.

Built as the
Hythe Elementary School, this large facility is now the Hythe Community Centre. Near the main entrance is a sign advertising the presence of the Hythe Thrift Store, just one of the many facilities within the town's Community Centre.
Other than at the thrift store, there was little activity in the building, so we were unable to discover just what facilities and amenities are housed within. Owned & operated by the Hythe & District Recreational Society, the facility houses an Education & Support group for families of Children 0-6 years, the Hythe Elks #236 and Hythe Ladies Elks Lodge, that we know of. There are also recreational facilities within, including a gymnasium, as well as other community and family oriented services to be found here.
Each year in May the centre hosts the Hythe Community Centre Annual Garage Sale as a fundraiser. As well as the centre's items for sale, tables can be had for $10 on which individuals may set up shop in order to flog items they no longer need or want. We suppose that a percentage of these sales goes to the centre.
