La fontaine précédemment à cet endroit, intitulée: "La Fontaine des Abénaquis", était beaucoup plus grande mais elle a dû être démolie pour la construction du nouveau pavillon d'accueil de l'Assemblée nationale du Québec. Cette nouvelle fontaine est située devant et sur le côté d’une sculpture intitulée: "Le Pêcheur à la Nigogue", qui représente un Abénaquis en train d'harponner un poisson.
The fountain previously at this location, titled: "La Fontaine des Abenaki", was much larger but had to be torn down in order to build the new reception pavilion of the Quebec National Assembly. This new fountain is located in front of and on the side of a sculpture titled: Le Pecheur a la Nigogue" which shows an Abenaki in the process of spearing fish.
