Raymond Hugh Takahashi represented Canada as a wrestler at the 1976 and 1984 Olympic Games. In Los Angeles (1984), Takahashi lost in the bronze medal match in the flyweight category. According to the marker on site, Takahashi represented Canada at three Olympiads.

Takahashi's marker is one of dozens on display at the Ottawa Sport Hall of Fame. Other members of his family are represented in the hall of fame. There is no admission fee for the hall of fame. The hall of fame is in the city hall complex.


Né à Downsview (Ontario) le 7 août 1958. Membre d'une famille de Nepean. Célèbre pour ses prouesses au judo; se distingue à la lutte. Médaille d'or aux Jeux de Commonwealth et trois fois aux Jeux Pan-Américains; participe à 10 championnats nationaux. Représente le Canada à trois Jeux olympiques. Ses succès à la lutte lui valent la reconnaissance de la Ottawa ACT, et des gouvernements de l'Ontario et du Canada. Prix national du lutteur exceptionel en 1980. Entraineur universitaire de lutte. Élu au Temple de Rénommée de Nepean.
