In 2009 the city of Tempe added a multi-use pathway to the south bank of the Rio Salado River. Along that pathway are several works of art, including four "window" abstract sculptures. This sculpture is a tribute to the work of Renaissance artist and architect Filippo Brunelleschi, one of the first to make use of forced perspective in his work.
