Die Förmitztalsperre ist eine 1977 fertiggestellte Talsperre am südlichen Rand des Gemeindegebietes von Schwarzenbach an der Saale im oberfränkischen Landkreis Hof. Namensgeber ist der gleichnamige Fluss Förmitz, ein rechter Nebenfluss der Sächsischen Saale. Die Talsperre liegt am Nord-Fuß des Waldsteinzuges im muldenförmigen Tal der Förmitz. Erbauer und Betreiber ist der Freistaat Bayern.

Description

The Förmitztalsperre is a 1977 completed dam on the southern edge of the municipality of Schwarzenbach an der Saale in the Upper Franconian district of Hof. The namesake is the river of the same name Förmitz, a right tributary of the Saxon Saale. The dam is located on the northern foot of the Waldsteinzuges in the trough-shaped valley of the Förmitz.
