The Texas Sesquicentennial (1836-1986) was celebrated statewide. Every imaginable event took place. There was a "Sesquicentennial Cattle Drive" with a heard of longhorns, a wagon train which traveled 2,200 miles. This monument, located in Dow Park in Deer Park recognizes "150 Years of Opportunity"
