Clearwater is in the North Thompson River Valley in beautiful British Columbia. It has approximately 2,325 residents in this small community. Clearwater is known as the "Gateway to Wells Gray Provincial Park".
Wells Gray Park's nickname is "Canada's Waterfalls Park" because 39 waterfalls are found within its boundaries. With its wide diversity of dense forested areas, to high mountain peaks, to rushing white waters makes this the ideal location for hiking, camping, water rafting and fishing as well as winter sports and other outdoor recreation very season of the year.
There is a visitor's center that provides your passport to Wells Gray Park. You can purchase your pass to the park here and maps and information on the park are available. It is located at 324 Clearwater Valley Road. It is about 6.5 km west of the welcome sign on the Southern Yellowhead Hwy./Hwy. 5 Take the traffic circle north to the visitor's center.
