NRHP Nomination Form"The Terminal/Office Building has the form of a solid rectangular mass with towers defining each corner. This rectangular structure divides visually into three horizontal elements: a three-story (1st, mezz., 2nd floor) base course surmounted by a ten-story (3rd - 12th floors) office core that is capped by a carved frieze. The corner towers, identified by their slight projection from the facade of the office core, are decorated by vertical shafts of carved limestone that extend from base course to frieze line and are terminated by octagonal pyramids which rise above the office core roofline and accentuate the building's prominence on the skyline.
The three-story base course has a facade of polished granite surmounted by carved Bedford limestone which wraps about the entire building block; the exterior of the office core is of natural-colored, rough textured brick; the frieze is of carved limestone. Metal double-hung fenestration of the office core is set off by brick jambs and decorative spandrels except where special ornamental carved stone spandrels and jamb decoration demark the first and last two office levels (floors 3, 11 and 12) and tie into a trim motif which wraps about the entire building.
