A town clock stands west of the City Hall entrance on Park Street in Attleboro, Massachusetts. A pair of spiral evergreen shrubs flank its north and south within a small mulch covered area surrounded by a rectangular red brick border.
The street clock is a small two-dial Howard model from the manufacturer Electric Time Company. The faces are 24" diameter circles with white backgrounds. The dozen Roman numeral hours and sixty minute marks are black. The black hands are curved tapers with bulbous teardrop-shaped pointers. The casing appears to have been finished in black and has lost its luster.
A cast aluminum dedication plaque mounted to the north side of the post's base includes a Rotary International medallion. It reads:
PRESENTED TO THE
CITIZENS OF ATTLEBORO
BY
THE ROTARY CLUB OF ATTLEBORO
IN COMMEMORATION OF
ITS 50TH ANNIVERSARY
FEBRUARY 9, 1985
The clock correctly displayed the time as 2:34PM on the afternoon of my visit.
