Nous trouvons les premières traces de l’Église St Anne de Montroy vers 1402. Elle dépendait de l’ordre de Cluny, et fut ruinée à l’époque des guerres de religion (constatation faite en 1610). L’église a été reconstruite et une cloche nommé Louise y fut baptisée le 15 mars 1671, cette cloche fut refondue en 1712 et baptisée le 20 juin sous le nom d’Anne puis refondue une 2ème fois en 1870. L’église fut ensuite bénite le 1er octobre 1719, les travaux entrepris entre 1787 et 1788 lui donnèrent son apparence actuelle. En 1825, une partie de l’église s’écroule et la façade est réparée en 1883.
Actuellement :
Quelques messes ont encore lieu et sont dites par le père Chappot de la Chanonie de St Soulle. Vous trouverez les dates sur le panneau d’affichage du mur du cimetière. Des travaux de restauration ont été entrepris ces dernières années afin de préserver notre patrimoine, mais des infiltrations ont eu raison de certaines boiseries. La mairie, avec le concours de Christophe y apporte le plus grand soin. Elle reste un des monuments les plus représentatifs de notre village.
Cimetière :
Le cimetière se doit d’être entretenu par la mairie et les tombes par les familles des défunts.
Le manque de place est problématique dans une commune grandissante. Les tombes en état d’abandon font l’objet d’un 1er procès verbal de constatation, puis un 2ème procès verbal 3 ans après. Si personne ne s’est manifesté et si la tombe n’a subi aucun entretien durant ces 3 années, les tombes peuvent être préemptées par la mairie.
Il va sans dire que cette intervention se fera après avoir affiché un panneau sur la tombe déclarant celle-ci en état d’abandon, et que la mairie fera le nécessaire pour retrouver la famille. Les procès-verbaux rédigés seront affichés sur la porte de l’appentis du cimetière.

Nous avons eu également la visite d’un architecte des bâtiments de France (Mme Naranjo-Morice ) qui a pu examiner l’église et le cimetière. Elle nous a donné des informations afin de mieux préserver l’église et conserver l’histoire de notre commune. Sur les conseils de Mme Naranjo-Morice, nous garderons certaines tombes en l’état qui seront entretenues par la mairie. D’autres sont dans un tel état de délabrement qu’il sera nécessaire de les déplacer. Les pierres tombales représentant un intérêt architectural seront préservées dans une partie du cimetière. La tombe la plus ancienne date de 1856.
Nous avons également un patrimoine « caché » dans notre appentis qui est un corbillard en bois qui doit dater de la fin 19ème/ début 20 ème. . Christophe est en train de nettoyer afin de lui redonner sa superbe.

It goes without saying that this intervention will be done after posting a sign on the tomb declaring it in a state of abandonment, and that the mayor will do what is necessary to find the family. The minutes will be posted on the cemetery lean-to door.

We also had the visit of an architect of the buildings of France (Mrs. Naranjo-Morice) who was able to examine the church and the cemetery.
