This historic district is along one block of Stein Street. The buildings were constructed from about 1850 to 1898. The low lying houses were originally constructed of brick but have been stuccoed over and are the older buildings in the district. The turreted building at the corner of Stein and Broadway was constructed in 1898 and was designed by Arthur Zeller in a Romanesque Revival style.
