This Plaque is an addition to the original brass plaque dedicated to the employee's who fought and died during the First World War. This plaque reads:-"Also in memory of the following who gave their lives during the 1939-1945 war", there is then a list of eight personnel who sadly but bravely gave their life for others.

The main plaque refers to "employee's within the Lincoln district who gave their lives for others.
It reads:-
[The inscriptions on the plaque are within two sections
The left is a Sword entwined with Laurel leaves and the Latin " PRO PRO DEO REGE ET. PRO PATRIA"(literally translates as " for the god king and the home land) - For the King and Country.
Also " Greater hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friend
There is a shield (enamel?) crest in the left bottom corner.
The right hand main section reads:-
150 members of the staff of the Lincoln Postal District served in the great war of 1914-1918 and the following made the great sacrifice".
There is then a list of twenty one brave men who died during the great war.
Attached to the top right is another enamel shield, with evidence of another.]

The Plaque is adjacent to the serving counter, with a foot note instructing that- If any works take place which may affect the memorial to notify "Property maintenance help desk".

As the other main occupier of this section of the premises has vacated and moved to another location (The Post office is set within a small area of the large unit). The potential for the Post Office to move to another location is, in my view, high, therefore, this waymark could move to another location in due course.
