In 1935 Colombia Pictures celebrated its 15th year as a studio. They also celebrated winning five Oscars: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Writing (screenplay), a feat that had never been done before, for the comedy film "It Happened One Night" starring Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert. At the suggestion of the film's Oscar-winning Best Actor, Gable, the studio later presented everyone who worked on the film with their own half-size Oscar.
