ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Second World War items, such as this folding bicycle used by paratroopers, were used by civilians for many years afterwards.
This bicycle is located in front of a Westland Lysander III - an aircraft which delivered over a hundred agents into occupied Europe on night missions, using fields as runways. For paratroopers and agents dropped into enemy territory, these bicycles were an essential and critical mode of transport.
