Op 5 juli 1921 werd het herdenkingsmonument van Hoeselt, vervaardigd door S. Warzée van Tongeren, ingehuldigd. Het momument eert, zoals de tekst op de voorpijler meldt, de helden die sneuvelden voor het vaderland. In Hoeselt namen 118 dorpsbewoners deel aan de Eerste Wereldoorlog. 109 van hen keerden terug.
Het monument bestaat uit een rond basement, waarop een vierkante pijler staat. Op de top van de pijler is een bronzen beeld aangebracht, een gevleugelde vrouwelijke figuur die met de krans van de overwinning zegerijk naar de hemel zwaait. Inspiratie voor dit beeld werd verkregen via de Grieke godin Nikè, godin van de overwinning. Het monument voor de gesneuvelden van Hoeselt bevond zich oorspronkelijk tegen de zuidelijk muur van het kerkhof. Nu staat het op het kerkplein.

On July 5, 1921 the memorial monument of Hoeselt, made by S. Warzée van Tongeren, was inaugurated. The memorial honors, as the text on the front pillar, the heroes who fell for the fatherland. In Hoeselt 118 villagers took part in the First World War. 109 of them returned.
The monument consists of a round base, with a square pillar on it. At the top of the pillar is a bronze statue, a winged female figure who swings the heavenly victory victory crown. Inspiration for this image was obtained through the Greek goddess Nikè, goddess of victory. The monument for the casualties of Hoeselt was originally against the southern wall of the cemetery. Now it is on the church square.
