This end of the shorter walk (3km each way) starts near the Valley View or Evans Lookout (at the end of Evans Lookout Road, at the 'southern' end of the one and half hour walk.

This is a medium grade hike in the Blue Mountains National Park, with some steep sections (none as bad compared to descending to Grose Valley). The walk roughly follows the cliff top edge, without getting overly close. There are HUGE drops, so caution is definitely required if walking in foggy weather.

The track starts at the northern side of the Evans Lookout car park. It descends through open forest and heath to the upper part of Govetts Creek (before it plunges into the Grose Valley), then continues across the cliff tops to Govetts Leap Lookout. From there local buses could take you up to Blackheath, to the train station if required. (I understand that the 'Moovit' app can be used to work out the times that the buses and trains run. I don't think that there is any bus service to Evans Lookout.)

Spring to Summer is a good time to check out the myriad of wild flowers along the track. Always take some water with you, as the creek water should not be trusted unless boiled.
