The board located at Lock 7 on the Macclesfield Canal near Bosley has information and pictures of the wildlife that can be seen in the side ponds and the canal.
The side ponds were built beside the locks and enabled some of the water to be re-used during a filling and emptying cycle. Today they are being managed to attract all sorts of wildlife. While the canal its self provides a way for wildlife to move around the countryside.
The board was placed by the Canal & River Trust with Lottery funding.
There are twelve locks known as the Bosley Flight along this stretch of the Macclesfield Canal. More information about the canal and the locks can be found at the following links: (
