This museum is located in the same building as the local library.
From the website:
The Museum first opened to the public in 1972 in a heritage home at 84 Oxford Street known as the "Murray House". Through the efforts of Museum staff and a dedicated Board of Management, the Museum played a vital role in preserving and promoting the heritage of Strathroy and area from this location, and undertook a range of educational programs and exhibitions.
But after thirty-five years of intensive use, the Museum outgrew its facilities, and began looking for a new location. In 2004, its new home was identified in the downtown core of Strathroy. It was perfectly placed in a heritage district, and being downtown meant it was more accessible to the public and more integrated within the community. General admission to Museum Strathroy-Caradoc is free.
The new location was achieved through a unique partnership with the County of Middlesex, integrating the Museum with the local public library and art gallery facility. Museum Strathroy-Caradoc’s facilities within 34 Frank include the museum’s exhibit gallery, The Art Space and Programming area, and a state of the art Collection Storage facility, located immediately behind the library.
