He was born on June 20, 1844 in Hinsdale, MA and died on November 24, 1929 in Washington D.C. His Medal of Honor information and citation is: WARREN, FRANCIS E.
• Rank and organization: Corporal, Company C, 49th Massachusetts Infantry
• Place and date: At Port Hudson, La., 27 May 1863
• Entered service at: Hinsdale, Mass.
• Date of issue: 30 September 1893
Citation: Volunteered in response to a call, and took part in the movement that was made upon the enemy's works under a heavy fire therefrom in advance of the general assault.

After the Civil War he moved to Wyoming and in 1890 he was elected U.S. Senator and held that position until his death at the age of 85. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, WY is named after him and his daughter was married to Army General John J. Pershing.
