An Eagle Project sign is at the entrance to this playground swing for children in a wheelchair. A flat ramp is at the bottom of the swing, allowing for entry of the wheelchair, with security features on the sides of the swing. A sign on the fence states "wheelchair use only" and "no playing on fence".

From a News9 article:

A Mustang Boy Scout put together a project to help people with disabilities.

Trevor Brock is 18 years old and a senior at Mustang High School. He’s also a member of Boy Scout Troop 396. Trevor worked for more than a year and almost 600 hours on his Eagle Project, a wheelchair swing at Wild Horse Park in Mustang.

The idea started when Trevor’s little brother was using a wheelchair for a different project.

“One day he came up to the park and realized there wasn’t really anything for him to do in a wheel chair,” said Trevor.

He then knew he wanted to help kids with disabilities for his project, giving them the opportunity to do something as simple as swinging on a swing.

Rachel Richardson is the mother of a child with special needs, Alexis. She said this swing is a blessing.

“We know that we may not have them when they are adults. So activities and going to the park and giving them normal childhood is our goal,” said Rachel.

The wheelchair swing is right next to the playground, so kids like Alexis can be near their friends. Rachel said Alexis was so excited to come back and use the swing for a second time. Trevor pushed her as she quietly enjoyed the swing.

She said to Trevor, “If you’re making this much of a difference as an 18-year-old kid, young man, there is great things in store for you. Thank you for thinking of our kids.”

Trevor said many individuals and organizations poured in donations. There were also volunteers that made it possible.

The swing alone cost $1,892. That was funded by Trevor’s scout account. He said the area American Legion, Pizza Hut, Home Depot, KFC, Lowes, Homeland, Sonic, Del Rancho, Walmart, and several others contributed.
