This is a combination of a Bowstring Truss and a straight truss bridge...similar to the old railroad bridges.
The bowstring truss bridge was patented in 1841 by Squire Whipple. While similar in appearance to a tied-arch bridge, a bowstring truss has diagonal load-bearing members: these diagonals result in a structure that more closely matches a Parker truss or Pratt truss than a true arch.

This bridge is on a walking. /Hiking trail that runs throughout the park. There are two bridges, almost identical. Each crosses a brook, or stream, created by a natural spring and feeds downhill into the large lake which anchors this park...located behind the huge amphitheater.
