The personal residence of Malcolm McDonald and his family. The 8412 square foot home was built in 1912 and sat on 1200 acres of land planted mostly in apple trees. This land has been converted into a new park called Orenco Woods Nature Park.

In its application for the National Register of Historic Places, the city of Hillsboro described some of the one-and-a-half-story house's architectural features. "Many features of the Craftsman style and form are apparent on the exterior, including deep open eaves with curved brackets and purlins, a broad entry porch, a variety of window types and wall surfaces, and multiple chimneys," the city wrote. "Built-in cabinetry, large fireplaces, and an open floor plan represent the style and form on the interior. Fine carpentry and the use of natural materials predominate." Note: The home is not open to the public at the time of this writing.
