The bridge is the 1,134 foot long Moffat Bridge,
officially opened by Premier W.A.C. Bennett on August 16, 1971, thereby replacing what is today the
WORLD'S LONGEST Wood Truss Pedestrian Bridge. Another 11 years passed before NRCAN got around to planting a benchmark on the bridge. Unfortunately, we can't relay the exact date of that auspicious occurrence. But we do know that it was monumented in the western face of the southwest concrete abutment. Free from vandalism, 82C293 remains in excellent condition, with just a bit of paint overspray having sullied it.
