The river Plym rises high up on the hills of Dartmoor.
In the pastas a result of mining activities, erosion and run off the river has silted up some of the upper reaches of the river which has been reclaimed and developed.
It is interesting to note that the information in the web site link suggests that the river Plym enters the river Meavy (inferring that the Meavy is the primary river), when in fact it is the other way around. The river Meavy meets the Plym, forming the river Plym and subsequently the name of Plymouth (the mouth of the river Plym).
